Last Night I went to check out the Arcade Fire at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. It’s the third time I’ve seen them live in concert. The other two times were way back in 2007 at Coachella and Sasquatch. If this were my first time seeing them live, I would easily say it was one of the most amazing shows I’ve seen… but after having seen them previously, it was mostly a standard Arcade Fire performance. Don’t mistake that as being a bad thing though. This group goes all out night after night. By the end of the show they’re all sweating… and it’s no wonder when you see the amount running around they do and how many different instruments they all play.
The only downside to the show was that the set list while in a somewhat different order, was almost exactly the same as other recent shows if you look up their set lists on www.setlist.fm. Even playing one song they haven’t playe anywhere else on the tour would’ve make each show a little more special if you ask me. They have 3 albums to pull from. Toss in a ‘Black Mirror’ or a ‘Neon Bible’ or something for the heck of it.
But seriously, anyone who hasn’t seen Arcade Fire live whether you’re into the band or don’t really get them should see them to fully understand why they’re pretty much the top indie band out there right now.
Here’s a couple videos from the concert.
